Another fantastic event run by Matchroom Sport at the home of British boxing, York Hall, Bethnal Green, London. With a prize fund of £32,000 the stakes were high, the competition tight, with moments of desperation from all boxers as they tasted the glory and status of becoming Prizefighter. The competition with four quarter finals, two semi finals and the penultimate final, found it’s new Featherweight Prizefighter champion, 40 year old Choi Tseveenpurev from Mongolia who defeated a brave and considerably younger 22 year old Rhys Roberts. For me the boxer of the night was George Jupp who put up a brave fight in all of his bouts, but fell short in semi final one.
